1000 Mile Bike Ride

Dear Sir/Madam

We have selected your club as a possible candidate to get involved in what is going to be one of the longests Bike Treks made for charity.

The event - 'The Ride Nationwide' is, in essence what is says on the tin. It is a ride undertaken by a small number of riders (2-3 aged 18/19) through 27 of Englands biggest city's. It will last 19 full days and each rider will cover in excess of 1000 miles.

We have planned our route accordingly, so that we can invite one member of a cycling group in the city we are traveling from, to join us in that day long journey. So that's where you come in. We are handpicking a select group of cycle clubs in the citys which we will ride through, and are seeking for our additional rider for that part of the ride.

The ride will recieve much media attention both locally and indeed nationaly. Currently, our website www.theridenationwide.co.uk is undergoing many construction objectives and as such, more details will become available at a later date. The ride itself is to occur in the Summer of 2010 however, planning has started several months ago.

If you wish, or think you have the ideal person to join us on our exciting fundraiser that will change lives please email us back and we will be happy to anwser any questions you may have, and indeed forward you a copy of a rider application form. Please note that due to the fact this email has been sent not only to your club, but to others in your area, a quick response is likly to favour your club if you wish to elect a rider.

Yours In Sport

Yorkshire Cancer Research Events

Dear Friends,

Are you proud to be from Yorkshire? We are too!

At Yorkshire Cancer Research we pride ourselves on funding world class research into the cause and cure of cancer at the five centres of cancer research excellence across Yorkshire.  YCR raises £6 million per year to fund doctors and scientists in the region who are searching for answers to that one big question ‘how can we rid the world of cancer once and for all?’

The Events Team here at the charity organize a number of fundraising events throughout the year and next month is no exception.  We will once again be organizing our hugely popular Pedal for Pounds North sponsored cycle ride at Harewood House on the 13th September and the brand new Pedal for Pounds South sponsored bike ride at Finningly near Doncaster on September 27th!!   Both events have a fun family ride of 20 – 25 miles and a more challenging route of 48 – 50 miles for the hardened cyclist! (mileage is dependant on which event cyclists choose to take part in)

Entry into the event is £18 and the money raised will go towards our vital research.

If you and your family or cycling club would be interested in taking part in this fantastic and popular event please follow this link www.ycr.org.uk/pedal  and enter today or for a paper entry form please call

01423 877 210 and we will take your details and send this to you.

If you feel that you cannot participate in either of these events we are still looking for volunteers to help us to marshal the route on the day – volunteers are just as important to us as the cyclists themselves – without them the event would not happen. If you would like to volunteer please contact the volunteer hotline on 01423 877 229 or email eyoung@ycr.org.uk

Yorkshire Cancer Research wants more people to get on their bikes and see our beautiful region whilst getting fit and raising money for our local and incredibly worthwhile cause – We are proud to be from Yorkshire and hope you are too and hope you will choose to support us in this event!

We hope to hear from you soon!!
